Changing theme / Look

Hi,
Be gentle I'm not technical...
My boss has asked me to upgrade the look /theme on one of their websites. The company that built and also maintain it said it was all bespoke and as such the theme was bespoke too and we are unable to change it... They could do it though!
We have limited access to the admin section on the cms.
I have worked on zen cart, joomla, Wordpress etc and when I try and find out about the site it comes back as Drupal CMS - is the any way I can confirm this and find out if I can upgrade /change the theme as it is very dated and in portrait.
(don't want to alter the back end functions only the look)
